What do you think of when I mention Zoom? Video calls, right? It is a tool that millions of people around the world rely on every day at work.
However, Microsoft Teams is the market leader in terms of productivity, collaboration, and workplace integration (as well as video calls). It is so simple because of its tight integration with other Microsoft 365 services.
Zoom is now attempting to get a piece of the action by launching a slew of new features and services. They’re clearly designed to compete with Teams and Slack.
These will include email, a calendar app, and Zoom Spots, a virtual co-working space. Meanwhile, a bunch of Zoom One platform enhancements aim to improve collaboration, keep chats flowing, and projects moving.
While it appears to be a logical next step for the video conferencing behemoth, it remains to be seen how widely the new services will be adopted. And we’ll want to know that the levels of support, dependability, and security are all bulletproof before we recommend it to our clients.
Many businesses have already committed to Microsoft Teams, which releases new features almost weekly. But this is an intriguing new development, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on what happens.
